Incumbent Ron Gay was unseated by former council member Dennis Maloney, for the College Station City Council place 3.

Maloney says his victory is a rejection of what he calls "the only one problem and we've got to solve it mentality."

"My attitude is not an either-or-attitude. There's not just one problem and there's not just one fix for the city of College Station. We are an international address. We are home to Texas A&M University and it behooves us to behave that way. That means you have to find a way to accommodate a diversity of likes and needs," said Maloney.

avenger needs to take off his rose colored glasses and while at it have his tunnel vision repaired so he can take a good look at where and by whom this city is being run by. The truth is that those area's where exactly what this past election was about.

That headline has such a nice ring. I think I'll read it several times.

Someone thinks that these College Station elections are decided by Woodcreek and Emerald Forest. A peek at the last election results shows that the losers lost in every one of College station's precincts. Precinct 40 was pretty representative of the city if you ask me.

To "Anonymous" at 09:04 = Do you really think you are that much better than Bryan? If so, why don't you use your name instead of "Anonymous?" I was going to do some shopping in CS on Thursday, but I think I'll just stay in Bryan if CS people think we are so beneath them.

I would hope that Mr. Maloney does not cater to only TAMU like his comments in this KBTX article allude to. He is serving at the wishes of the taxpayers and citizens of College Station. By the way- was he on the city council that decided to go forth with the "mud pond/lake" -Artic Wolf area and City Parking Garage that is a financial bind on the city and CS taxpayers. Why didn't KBTX get comments from the other councilmen and candidates? Very interesting !! Let's be fair to all !!

Ron Gay is a jerk.

I can't believe that adults are making these comments about Ron Gay. If you don't like his views ..you go out and vote! You don't need to bash the man and call him names. You don't need him to make the city look bad you are doing a fine job on your own.

We are starting to act like Bryan City Government. When you start acting like Bryan you will be Bryan. People of CS need to drive N.Texas across the (DMZ) University DR into Bryan and take a look. For a adventure S.College at night. We do not need to be like Bryan and we have started.

Any bets on how long before Maloney embarrasses the city of College Station again? His temper and bad attitude are a blight on the city.

Despite what Maloney belives A@M is not the center of the universe and should not be the main focus for the city council. His main concern should be the citizens of College Station not pleasing A@m or one group which this council race was really about. The city suffered before because of him and so the did the city employees. So if Bryan wants him let them have him as far as I am concern as soon as he term ends I will be there to vote against him and hopefully by this time the citizens of College Station will wake up and quit letting Emerald Forrest and Woodcreek residents be the only ones deciding our cities future

We've finally rid The Penguin from Gotham City! Nice work, Robin! (Ring) It's the Bat Phone. Batman here. Hello Commissioner. Yes, I'm very happy The Penguin is gone. I sent him floating down the Brazos River on an ice berg. Nice work Batman! His office won't even miss him. He's always gone, so they'll never know the difference. See you next week - same Bat time, same Bat channel!

How a person handles defeat speaks volumes about his/her character. Why no comment from Ron Gay about the race? Why no congratulations from Gay to Maloney for winning. Come on Gay, be gracious about this!

I live in Bryan, but I like Dennis Maloney's philosophy---"we have to accomodate a diversity of likes and needs." Dennis, would you consider moving to Bryan, I'll vote for you. We could use that type of thinking on Bryan's city council. Best of luck.

Swell, more tax and spend coming to CS. Word to Maloney and crew: I'm moving to Grimes County within the year if you don't lower the tax rate. I suppose the multi tens of millions of $'s for the bs city center is a done deal. Ditto for the conference center that's suppose to lose money. And don't forget more $'s for the arts council and P. Diddy Romei. I can't wait to get out of this lowsy town run by a bunch of elitist idiots.
