Everyone knows anything peacock related is trending right now. I went to a bridal show last month and every cake decorator had at least one towering peacock wedding cake.

While I’m not in love with the idea of having my wedding cake resembling a peacock, I’m certainly in love with colorful eyes!

When I was a beauty consultant my boss would not allow us to wear neutral toned eyeshadow. It’s too boring.

I recently decided to try my eye makeup inspired by the peacock colors and I loved it! Here’s how I got my look!

First, I got out my primer. I love eyeshadow primer because it makes the colors brighter, last longer and I don’t have to use as much shadow. It’s a win all around.

I applied a luminous, shimmery gold all over my lid and brow bone. Then, I got a light green shadow and applied it on my lid.

After the green, I reached for a fun blue eyeshadow (please don’t be afraid of it!) and applied it over about two-thirds of my lid, leaving a portion of my inner eye green. Always blend and apply it at a slight slant to the outer eye.

Finally for the shadows, I got a darker purple and made a “7” shape with it lining the outer third of my eye and then blending it through the crease. I lined with a dark green on the top and a light blue on the bottom.

It’s a very fun look for a night out. I even wore it to work…of course, blended and with more muted colors!

For even more fun with this, use mineral eyeshadow glitter. If you apply it wet, it will give it a more dramatic look and keep it in place longer! There are plenty of places to purchase mineral colors, here is a link to a site I have purchased from and enjoyed their minerals.
