Bill Flores is seeking the Republican nomination for Texas' 17th District in the US House of Representatives. Thursday morning, he talked about his campaign for this March primary on the only local morning television newscast.

Flores was the latest of 15 candidates who will appear throughout February on Brazos Valley This Morning. His opponents for the Republican nomination are Rob Curnock, Timothy Delasandro, Dave McIntyre and Chuck Wilson. McIntyre will appear on the show Friday. The others were on earlier in the week.

Flores explained his reasons for running, the biggest issues facing the southern portion of District 17, his views on earmarks, and his opinions on the nation's economic woes.

The retired businessman also answered questions after the on-air segment for the morning show's Facebook and YouTube sites. That video is available below. Become a fan of BVTM on Facebook for exclusive behind the scenes content and updates.

Thanks for the comment ms. "I like wealthy people." It's funny how most of these posters are not aware that waiting tables is part modern work. Keep it up.

Whats up will all the resentment and hostility towards people that have done well in life? There is no reason to punish success. Do you think the man should give all his money away and live in poverty?

Well, "leftwingnut", there are very few "average working stiffs" that can afford to dine where I work. It's very hard for two people to get out of here for less than $150. $200 tabs more of the norm for two of our guests. If I just get a 15% tip on a $150 meal, and believe me, most leave 20% or even more, that's $22.50. When I worked in a national chain steakhouse, that catered to "average stiffs" I didn't make near as much, even though I provided them with the same quality service I provide here. Not that there is anything wrong with being an "average working stiff". I would consider myself to be just that. I want the rich to get richer. I would suspect that the "average stiffs" that repair and sell luxury cars, jets and yachts would agree with me. In conclusion, I never said I can not see myself becoming wealthy. You were putting words in my mouth when you said that. With a lot of hard work, I might end up wealthy. I hope you win the lotto "leftwingnut". I'd gladly serve you a meal.
