Wednesday was quarter hot dog night at Blinn. Someone could've used one of those quarters to call an umpire.

The Buccaneer baseball game with Galveston was delayed nearly 90 minutes because no umpires were scheduled to work the Region 14 match-up.

The Anderson-Shiro baseball team, members of the Blinn football team, Dwayne Parsons, and the rest of the customers ate all 600 dogs before the game started.

The night was just starting.

The Buccaneers scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and were in control throughout.

At 11pm, the automatic sprinklers went off as the Bucs were batting, but even that irrigation malfunction could not dampen the home team's spirits.

The Big Blue went on to run-rule the Whitecaps, 15-5, in seven innings.

Blinn scored its 15 runs on 20 hits, while committing six errors.

The Caps scored their five runs on eight hits.

Galveston was not charged with any errors.

The Bucs have won eight straight games.

Trey Johnson led the Bucs by pitching for the win as well as adding two of the eight home runs hit by the Buccaneerss.

The Bucs play at Galveston on Saturday games begining at 1pm.
