Back from sea and back to work...

I just got back from a week-long Caribbean cruise! We had a great and relaxing time on the Ecstasy! For about 750 bucks a pop, you can eat all you want and enjoy lots of Carnival activities on the "Fun Ship". My husband, Brent, will tell you, the price of admission is worth the view of the amazing water below...and the rest is just gravy.

We stopped in Cozumel and Progresso, Mexico for day trips, which included a tour of the Mayan ruins and a jaunt with the dolphins. That's right, my life-long dream of swimming with dolphins has come true. It's was awesome! Our dolphin was named Chuck. Chuck pushed us on a boogie board, picked us up for a little ride and performed lots tricks.

While out to sea, we enjoyed lots of games, activities, comedy shows...and did I mention, FOOD! We ate nonstop! Shrimp, lobster, steak and a midnight dessert buffet! If my suits look a little snug, you'll understand why. Great food and great service...the employees on board were the hardest working people you can find almost anywhere. Most of them were from other countries, working six months out of the year, to support their families back home.

Wow...I sound like an ad for Carnival. I promise they didn't pay me to write this. Just wanted to recommend a cruise to anyone looking for a good vacation with fun activities. With most hotel rooms $100 a night, plus high food and gas prices, a five day all-inclusive cruise for less than a thousand, isn't that bad.

Anyway, back on dry land and back to work. I'd love to hear where folks are vacationing this summer. Post your vacation destinations in the comments section. Bon voyage!

My family took a nice vacation in May. We went to Mount Rushmore. Really enjoyed the break from the Texas heat. The weather was great up there.

We also cruised onboard the Ecstasy in early June. The boys thought it was THEIR ship... despite all the other people on board! You are absolutely right about the people who work on the ship. The service was great and we had a great time. A quick "hello" to all the nice folks we met onboard from Madisonville. There were some dancers from a Madisonville dance troup performing during our cruise. It was so nice to meet some of our wonderful viewers. My apologies to them for my appearance, but, after all... I was on vacation... probably not looking my best!!! BUT... did I mention we had FUN! Glad to hear you and Brent enjoyed it as well. Do you have your land-legs back yet? I was dizzy for a week!!!
