The 2007 tropical season ended on Friday, November 30, 2007. After looking back on this past season, fourteen storms were named in the Atlantic basin with six becoming hurricanes and two becoming major hurricanes.
The original forecast called for thirteen to sixteen named storms, placing this years activity within it's forecast. Seven to nine storms where forecast to become hurricanes with three to five projected to become major hurricanes.
On average, we usually see eleven named storms, six hurricanes, and two major hurricanes.
