Wedding Nightmares

I have more than a year to go until our wedding, but the wedding nightmares have already started. Is this normal?? I dream about everything from my wedding dress getting ruined, to the photographer not showing up, and the most re-occurring dream--lots and lots of rain. I'm not talking about sprinkles, but more like a typhoon. So, I've already started preparing. I found a website where you can look at your wedding date from the past several years to see if it will rain. The website says it hasn't rained on my date for the past 10 years. Maybe I'm in the clear. If not, they say rain is good luck, right?? I think that is just supposed to make brides feel good if their wedding day is a wash out.

If you have any ideas how to keep the rain away, feel free to send them my way. I've heard that if you hang a crucifix in your yard, that will work. Maybe I can make my fiance do the opposite of a rain dance...I'm sure he would love that :)

On another note, if you have any story ideas let me know. We are here to help you!

Until later,

Meredith

Oh Meredith, there's nothing to worry about. I can tell you everything will turn out for the best. I know i've been there & the groom has cold feet too! After the I DO's have been said it's like a load has been taken off your back. Just remember if there's an argument just talk it out calmly. Good Luck!

I had the same nightmare over and over again -- it was time for me to walk down the aisle and I just realized that I didn't have my hair and make-up done!!!! I wanted to wait until I could get it done, but everyone was telling me, no you have to do it now because this is the only available time open at the church!! It was so stressful!! I would wake up in a panic!

raise high the roof beam, carpenter. salinger might make it easier

Posted by: Tammy Meredith, I agree with Barbara. Remember this is the beginning of many, many wonderful years together. A wedding doesn't have to be perfect to be memorable. Rain would make it memorable. Always have a back-up location in case of the monsoon. Every wedding I have ever attended including my own has had something not quite right but memorable and that is what makes them great. I wish you happiness with your beloved.

Nothing is prettier than white umbrellas!

Meredith well my wedding had its monsoon moments, and I can honestly say in the end it really didn't matter. Although it wasn't great for the hair or convenient for the guests it's considered good luck. Hahah at least that's what they say...Anyways, I love hearing all your wedding plans, and seeing them! In the end, all that matters is that you will be married at the end of the day:) Love your friend who sits across the room!

Oh, Meredith, just wait. If you have more than a year to go, the dreams are not going to get any better. I know that's probably not what you want to hear. As for rain being good luck, it didn't rain before our wedding, but it started raining just as we were walking out of the church (thus, we have a lovely photo under an umbrella... nice). In February, we'll celebrate ten years of wedded bliss (some years were more blissful than others). I guess my point is this... rain or not, perfect wedding or not, those things don't really matter. While a good wedding is great, a good marriage is better. And I have no doubt you'll have many, many happy anniversaries together. And, when you look back at the pictures, hopefully you'll find happy memories that make you laugh (Josh had gum in his mouth the whole time... I never knew 'til the photos came back... go figure).

I understand how you feel. My wedding date is Oct 4th and I worry about a hurricane ruining the wedding or my honeymoon. I've found the dress (YEAH!), bakery, photographer and videographer, but I still need a caterer and florist. I will say it is a pain to find all the vendors because you have to schedule consultations to get quotes and of course you need more than one quote, right? I don't have enough time in the day especially when I work in CS, but live in Houston. Good luck with the planning. All I can say is start early and you won't have a hard time finding vendors with your date available.
