Why do we do this to ourselves?

I recently saw a great movie, "P.S. I Love You." However, if any of you have seen the movie, you also know it is one of the saddest. I will not give away the plot, but just a warning for those wanting to see the flick...bring tissues.

My sister, who was battling a cold, brought a box of Kleenex. I don't think she even used one of them, but I almost emptied the entire box. And, I wasn't the only one. I don't think there was a dry eye in the theater. You could hear sniffling the entire time.

So, I ask, why do we do this to ourselves?? I admit it was a great movie, but it also was a complete tear jerker.

On another note, but also about movies....my fiance and I have the hardest time going to the movies. That's because he likes the action flicks (pirates of the Caribbean, tranformers, etc.) and I like the more funny/romantic films.

With that said, when we go, he usually gets his way.

I'm welcome to any tips on how to handle this situation.

I'm sure he's going to love this :)

We watch and enjoy movies like "P.S. I Love You" because, although they are tear- jerkers, they are sweet stories of love that make us feel warm inside like you feel when you first fall in love. They are realistic and thus more easy to relate to than fairy tales. They also make us reevaluate what's improtant in our lives. When I watched "P.S. I Love You," I was mad at Josh, but before the movie was over, I couln't wait to see him again to tell him how much I love him and appreciate him.

I have a perfect solution to your movie troubles... I'll get a babysitter, Shane and Josh can go watch something get blown up, and you and I can laugh or cry... whichever seems best as the time! After ten years of marriage, Josh and I still have a hard time with movies. Typically, we'll split the difference and just find something funny. We can both agree on that.

The solution is simple. Go to seperate movies. With 20 movies available at one complex, it should be easy to find one with action and romance playing.

Split it down the middle.... Go see documentaries, or bizarre French New Wave films, nothing like reading a movie!

Alternate who gets to choose the movie each time so that he gets his fix of action movies and you get your fix of tear jerkers. Good luck!
