My son, Luke, is like many other children in the world who have problems with spitting up. It was so bad, that he couldn’t sleep while laying flat. We originally bought a baby papisan chair, and an infant to toddler rocking chair. Both worked well, but I wanted something that was more off the floor, and was a swing.
The swing we already had didn’t recline enough for him to safely use it, so I went online in search of something better. That’s when I found one of the greatest products I have come across in my short time as a mom. The Graco Sweetpeace Newborn Soothing Center!

This swing doesn’t move with the standard front to back swinging action. Instead, it moves on an arc, and the part of the swing where you place the baby can be turned to face one of 4 ways.
This swing is designed to help newborns adjust to the outside. It comes with a swaddler, that has a place for the harness to go through, a padded head support, that looks like bear ears, I think it’s really cute, and it has two speeds of vibration.
The center also has built in music, both fun and soothing, and has different sounds, like a heartbeat or rainfall. It does have a place for you to hook up an Mp3 player, and the speaker gets pretty loud. There where times that we used it as an extra sound system, just because it was easier to hook up to, than starting the computer.
The Sweetpeace comes with a removable tray, and a teething toy, and it has a cute little stuffed bear that hangs from the canopy. These were all things that helped keep Luke entertained. Graco really thinks ahead when they design their products, and the teething toy can also be connected to some of the other Graco products, like their high chairs.
The carrier part of the swing can be removed, and used as a floor rocker, or you can place most of the Graco infant car seats on the swing, this way, if your baby falls asleep in the car, you can keep them asleep for a little while longer. After all, no one wants to hear their baby cry if they can avoid it.
As wonderful as this product is, I did find it to have a few flaws.
One of the problems we had, was that we were forever stepping on the power cable where it plugged in at. If the plug was recessed, it wouldn’t have been so easy to step on it, and bend the end. We could have used batteries instead, but it was easier for us to plug it in.
The other issue we ran into was that it takes up quite a bit of floor space. We have a small house, and to find a place where we could put the swing, and still be able to walk around it.
This is one of the pricier swings on the market, but I think it’s worth every penny. I only wish we had found it sooner, so we could have used it longer.
Here is a link to Graco’s website, where you can find a ton of information about this swing.

They even have an interactive demo, which goes through all of the features of the swing; there are so many more than I could talk about here.
If anyone has any questions about products or where to find stuff in the B/CS area, please let me know, and I’ll try my best to find out what I can, or tell you what I already know, just remember, I’m just another mom, not an expert on anything.

This is a pic of Luke in our Sweetpeace swing, and I do know I should have had him strapped in, but my husband was close by when we took this picture.
