The NEW Day-Part Forecast

As of Monday, March 24, we've added a new element to the weather section of KBTX.com. You can now view a "day-part" forecast for Bryan/College Station, displaying the expected weather condition, temperature, rain chances, and wind for four specific times, seven days a week!

The forecast, which come straight from the News 3 weather department, will be given for the 7 am, noon, 5 pm, and 10 pm hours, updated constantly throughout the day. You can access the forecast by clicking on "Day-Part" in the middle of the weather page.

The idea behind the "day-part" forecast is to help you plan your day better, by breaking down specific conditions for popular times.

We want to know what you think! Should more times be added?  Should more elements be added? Please feel free to ask questions, give comments, and make suggestions on how we can improve the way we bring you your weather forecast.

A 3pm forecast would help with dressing the kids for school. Good Job!

The day part weather really is a great way to help plan your day according to the weather. I know for myself that if it's raining I'd rather be home than out doing other things and if I know which parts of the day it's supposed to be raining that'd help a lot. If anything were added to the day part weather it'd only make it greater than what it is already.

Agreed. 3pm is a must-have for something like this. Something like: 7am, noon, 3pm, 5-6pm, 10pm and even a 2am would be nice just for completeness. It also gives a chance to see when a front might come through.

I agree---3 pm would be helpful as we're getting kids from school. I enjoy the feature on weather.com called "schoolday weather." There's a line graph of temperatures, and I like that I can see when the weather experts think a storm will blow in or when a cool front will come through. It helps me dress for the day! Thanks for all the new features!!
