It has been a rough couple of days for portions of Texas, a sign that Spring is defiantly here! A significant amount of rain created over 10 inches of rain east of Lufkin in East Texas over the weekend.
Another strong storm system created tornadic storms in portions of North Texas Monday (3/31). The video attached is a skycam shot of Ft. Worth, showing the clouds associated with a storm that was capable of producing a tornado. Several viewers even sent in photos of possible wall clouds and small tornadoes in North Texas.
Tornado warnings were issued for much of North Texas, including Tarrant, Denton, and Johnson counties Monday. The same storm system warranted a Tornado Watch which included the northern portions of the Brazos Valley. Fortunately, the storms never made it this far south.
The National Weather Service will survey damage in North Texas to officially determine whether or not that part of the state ended March on a tornadic note.
