Breezy Weather through Friday

As a low-pressure system approaches from the west, the winds will respond in a gusty way over the next few days. South-southeasterly winds will increase from 15-30 mph during the afternoon and early evening hours Wednesday and Thursday.  As a weak cold front approaches Friday, the winds will relax a bit as they briefly turn from the north-northwest on Friday night and Saturday.

A Wind Advisory is in effect for Leon, Milam, and Robertson counties in the News 3 viewing area through 7 p.m. Wednesday evening. There's a good chance that the same advisory may be extended through Thursday as well. Even though the Wind Advisory is only in effect for our northwestern counties, remember it will be breezy throughout the entire region through Friday.

Man do I love the wind! ! ! ! My AC hasn't run very much and the cool breeze at night while we lay in bed sure reminds me of when I was a kid at my grandparents house. So I say to those of you that don't like the wind deal with it.. At least my electric bill is lower... Cheers!!!

When is the March wind going to stop?

Posted by: Rodney Location: KBTX Media
Wayne, we have a strong ridge of high pressure sitting on the east coast and a strong trough of low pressure in the central plains. This is creating a tight pressure gradiant (a big difference in pressure) for all areas in between resulting in the gusty winds. Once the low pressure system moves east of the Brazos Valley this weekend, our winds will start to relax a bit begining Friday.

Posted by: Wayne I can not remember the wind blowing this much and this often for this time of the year or for any time of the year. Is there a reason for this? Ready for the wind to settle down a bit ! !
