2007 Retired Storm Names

Three names have been retired from the 2007 hurricane season.

Hurricane Dean, a category five storm responsible for 32 deaths, was retired. Felix, also a category five storm responsible for 130 deaths was retired. Finally, Noel was only reached category one status, was also retired. Although Noel wasn't as strong as Dean or Felix, it was responsible for the most deaths -- 160 people died as a result of Noel in the Caribbean and Bahamas.

When storms are retired when they cause a significant amount of destruction and their names are never used again. In 2013 the retired names will be replaced with Dorian, Fernand, and Nestor.
