Thursday night snow was falling here in Bryan/College Station, piling up in Dallas/Ft. Worth to what would amount to be 12.5", and spreading east towards other parts of the United States.  By Friday night, that same system even put a dusting of snow on the ground in the Florida Panhandle!  That got us weather folk wondering, could there have been snow in all 50 states at the same time?  After scientists in Hawaii scoured the mountain tops, it seemed as if they were the only state holding out meaning, only 49 of the 50 had snow on the ground.

Until this happened....

A graduate student out of University of Oklahoma named Patrick Marsh confirmed the milestone in his blog with this picture.  Two tiny specs of snow atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii on February 13.

Just to give you a reference as to what Mauna Kea looks like, here's a picture of it in March 2005.

So there you go...50 states with snow on the ground all at once!

OK Folks I think the point is "Snow in all 50 states!" isn't that cool. Thank you Patrick Marsh for finding that Hawaii snow. Just enjoy it. Tell your kids about it. Be glad the Texas snow was here to enjoy and not just in Amarillo or somewhere else farther North.

Isn't the global warming suppose to melt most, if not all of the polar caps. Therefore the cold water is to unindate the oceans to cool the water, which is suppose to fowl up the earths capability to control the climate and greate another ice age????

Data masking, fact changing, politically driven Chicken Little's who insinuate that nonbelievers are ignorant have done more to discredit than a cold snap ever could.

Yea I guess the dinosaurs ruined there era with all those SUVS huh...global warming i think not, it has to do with plate tectonics and our earth is shifting.

There are many other things to discredit global warming...the cold "snaps" are just one of many!

Brief, intermittent cold-snaps do not discredit global warming concepts. The earth's weather pattern is cyclical in nature. Perhaps global warming is not the direct cause of humans but it should still be recognized that, in general, we are warming up. One should try not to make assumptions that these isolated cold-snaps completely discredit global warming; this only feeds extreme left-wing sentiment of "the other side's" ignorance on the issue. Imagine what these comments would say during a heat wave...

This is proof FOR global climate change, not AGAINST it.

I don't know what to believe now... Global Warming is not true, because it's snowing in southern Texas. At the same time all the snow that was on the mountain has melted... hmmm...

It is because they now believe that global warming is not as drastic as they orginally thought

Big 12 Break Up? Dejavu All Over Again? Reminds Me of The SWC - 1 Comments Posted
For the last few days I've heard lots of moaning about the coming break up of the Big 12. To those resisting change I've been using all those phrases that deal with change like: "All good things must come to an end." "Change is inevitable." " We must embrace change". (Read Blog)
Defining Moments For Us All - 1 Comments Posted
Throughout everyone of our lives there are traumatic moments we will never forget. I call them defining moments. Some are personal, some we share with our friends, families, our community or our world. For my parents it was the assassination of President John F Kennedy and when man walked on the moon.
