Marshals End Bombers Championship Hopes

Bombers Win Thriller to Even Series

Last Updated: 11:03 PM 08/06/08 - On the brink of elimination, the Bombers came up big with a 4-3 win in extra innings against the McKinney Marshals. Bombers starting pitcher John Touchton was nearly untouchable, holding the Marshals hitless for the first four innings on his way to seven scoreless innings of work. Meanwhile, Barbara Nance brought home a half karat diamond after becoming the winner of Montelongo’s Fine Jewelry’s Diamond Derby.

Bombers Trio Selected for All-League Team

Last Updated: 8:32 PM 08/04/08 - With another Texas Collegiate League season now in the books, teams are preparing for the playoffs and their chance to make a run for the TCL Title. After enjoying spectacular individual seasons, Nick Anders, Todd Cunningham and Dustin Rasco were selected to the 2008 TCL All-League Team today. The awards demonstrated the hard work and dedication that the players showed each and every night.

Bombers Announce Playoff Schedule Change: Home Playoff Game Moved to Wednesday

Last Updated: 3:06 PM 08/04/08 - Due to impending inclement weather, the Brazos Valley Bombers first home playoff game has been moved to Wednesday. The Bombers will be heading to McKinney tomorrow to play game one of the series at Gabe Nesbitt Field. Although Hurricane Edward is expected to dissipate as it reaches mainland, thunderstorms are still likely on Tuesday in the Bryan-College Station area.

Weather Cuts Bombers Home Finale Short

Last Updated: 10:45 PM 08/03/08 - Bryan, TX - For the second straight season, the Bombers home finale was cancelled due to inclement weather. The game was cut short in the middle of the fourth inning, as lightning and an impending thunderstorm forced the umpires to call the game early. (Full Story)
