The Farm Service Agency (FSA) is now accepting applications for damages and losses caused by drought occurring from March 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 for emergency farm loans.
Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Leon, Madison, Robertson, Walker, Freestone and Limestone county Farm Loan Manager Nathan Philipello asks farmers who want to apply for emergency loans to submit their applications as soon as possible. The deadline for applications is November 28,2011, but Philipello says if farmers wait too long, a backlog will develop and cause delays.
Generally, farmers who have lost 30% of their production due to losses caused by drought, occurring from March 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 are eligible for the emergency loans. The FSA office is located at 1303 W. FM 1644, Franklin, TX.
