Blinn College Presents Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Blinn College-Brenham’s theatre arts program will put on the fairest production of them all Thursday through Sunday when it presents “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs” at the Dr. W.W. O’Donnell Performing Arts Center.

“Snow White” tells the story of a princess who finds her way to the home of seven friendly dwarfs after being supposedly disposed of by the wicked queen.

Blinn will host 7 p.m. performances Thursday through Saturday and a 2 p.m. performance Sunday. The play is produced as part of Blinn’s Service Learning project for the Brenham campus.

“Snow White” is directed by Theatre Arts Director Bradley Nies. Professor Kevin Patrick serves as technical director, and Instructor Jennifer Patrick is the costume designer and guest artist.
“Snow White” is the second play Blinn’s Brenham campus has produced this season under the theme “An American Year.” In October, Blinn produced “Enron,” which showed how an American energy giant could go from a model of the future to a bankrupt disaster. The cast and crew received national recognition from the Kennedy Center/American College Theatre Festival for the student performances and production of masks used in the play.

“Biloxi Blues,” to be shown in February, tells of the misadventures of Eugene Morris Jerome, a young Army recruit during World War II as he trains in Biloxi, Miss. Blinn will conclude its season in April with “An Evening of Tennessee Williams,” as students direct and perform in scenes from classic works by the famous American playwright.
Blinn’s theatre arts program offers a quality educational foundation through study, application and experience. A wide range of performance and production studies combined with Blinn’s outstanding reputation as the state leader in transferring students to top four-year institutions paves the way for success in an exciting entertainment career. In the theatre arts program at Blinn, students apply their knowledge each year in four or more dramatic productions, two musical theatre ensembles and local, regional and national
presentations.
