Brazos Co. 4-H Wins Reserve Champion in Ft. Worth Rodeo

The Equestrian 4-H Club of Brazos County's Senior team traveled to the
Southwestern Exposition and Livestock Show Horse Judging Contest at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo on Saturday, February 4th. The team of Laura Bilke, Megan Feldman, Ali Fratessa and Rachel Lucht placed in the Top 5 in all divisions, coming in 1st place in Performance and 1st place in
Reasons, and 5th in Halter, garnering 2nd Place Overall Team.

Individually, Franklin High freshman Ali Fratessa, was 3rd in Performance and 4th in Reasons, and A & M Consolidated junior Rachel Lucht won 1st place in Performance and 1st place in Reasons. Fratessa came in overall 3rd place High Point Individual, with Lucht in 4th place High Point Individual at the contest.

By placing second at Fort Worth, the team qualifies to represent Texas at the American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Show Horse Judging Contest in Oklahoma City in July. The team is coached by Dr. Katrin Hinrichs, Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine.
