Here are the locations of the College Station Police Traffic Patrols.
Here is where CSPD officers are patrolling:
University Dr. East, Tarrow to Highway 6.
Harvey Mitchell Pkwy South, from George Bush Drive to Rio Grande.
Texas Avenue, from Walton to Holleman.
Harvey Road, from Texas Avenue to Highway 6.
CSPD says that many of the crashes they are seeing are from people following too closely and having rear-end collisions. They would like to remind everyone of the traffic ordinance on following distance:
TRC 545.062. FOLLOWING DISTANCE. (a) An operator shall, if following another vehicle, maintain an assured clear distance between the two vehicles so that, considering the speed of the vehicles, traffic, and the conditions of the highway, the operator can safely stop without colliding with the preceding vehicle or veering into another vehicle, object, or person on or near the highway.
