College Station Mayor Berry stopped by Brazos Valley This Morning Wednesday and talked about the city's discussion on going after federal grant money to hire more police officers.
In their workshop and meeting Thursday, the city council will hear from College Station Police Chief Jeff Capps. The agenda says the Chief would like to go after enough grant money to hire six full-time entry level officers.
Mayor Berry said this grant would lift some of the burden off the city and police department when funding new hires and is a great way to keep the police department growing as the city expands.
