Local Morning Radio Host Steps Away From Mic

Updated: Sat 11:07 AM, Jan 28, 2012

She's been waking people up across the Brazos Valley for years, but Friday morning was the last one for Alli from Morning Candy on Candy 95.

Alli was half of the morning duo on Morning Candy with Frito and Alli. She spent the morning taking calls from listeners and playing some of her favorite music. She also spent some time reflecting on her on-air career.

"One thing that I can say about this job that will always ring true," says Alli through tears,"I learned from Ben Downs, our general manager. He's always said 'working in radio beats working' and I 100 percent agree."

Even though Alli won't be on-air, she's staying with Bryan Broadcasting. She'll be moving over to the sales side of the business, which means she'll get to sleep in. Alli says she's excited for the future and is very much looking forward to the next step in her career.
