City Council Considers $35K Re-branding

The city council is considering a proposed 35 thousand dollar rebranding of Navasota.

It was a hot topic at this week's council meeting.

Communications and Marketing Director Corey Johnson was unable to attend the meeting due to a family emergency.

Blues Fest Weekend

The annual Blues Fest weekend kicks off with the third annual Blues Revue Thursday night at Mallett Brothers Barbeque from 7 - 10 p.m.

The event is free and will showcase local artists.

The 17th Annual Navasota Blues Fest will be Friday night from 6-midnight, and from 1 p.m. - midnight on Saturday.

On Saturday morning, the Third Annual Blues Capital of Texas 5K and 1-Mile Kids Fitness Challenge takes place at August Horst Park.

NBA Star Visits Navasota

Find out why Iola graduate class of 1997 Chris Anderson paid a visit to Navasota.

He's known across the country as "the Birdman".

Anderson played a pivotal role this summer for the Miami Heat, which defeated the San Antonio Spurs for the NBA Championship and has signed on for another year.

Rattler Football Tickets on Sale

It's almost time to show Texas just what makes Rattler Nation and Navasota so special.

The 2013 football season is here and season ticket holders may pick up their tickets from today until the 20th of this month.

Beginning August 21, all reserved tickets will be made available to the general public for sale.

Ticket hours are 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Navasota High School.

There are five homes games this year.

Reserved game tickets are $8.

A season ticket for five games is $40.
