COLLEGE STATION A pair of funding agreements with local organizations and a rate increase for Atmos Energy customers is on the agenda for the College Station City Council Monday night.
The council is meeting Monday because many of the council members and staff will be attending the annual Texas Municipal League conference in Austin later in the week. During the regular meeting, council members will hear and possibly take action on an agreement to fund the Research Valley Partnership. As part of the 2013-2014 budget process the city approved $350,000 in funding for the RVP.
The council will also discuss a funding agreement for B/CS Convention and Visitors Bureau. The city council approved nearly $1.4 million in funds in the 2013-2014 budget process. The funds are to be used for marketing and operational activities directly associated with the promotion of tourism and the hotel industry in College Station, according to the materials in Monday night's agenda.
Council members will also discuss approving an ordinance that would raise Atmos customer's rate by .74 cents a month.
The meetings can be watched live on Suddenlink Ch. 19, or online. Previous council meetings are archived on the website. A detailed live blog from the meetings will be posted on this site and also can be accessed through the city’s Facebook page.
