After their daughter was born with Down syndrome, Kara & Brad Tillery did a lot of research about the disease.
The Tillery's discovered that about 9 out of 10 women in the United States that have a Down syndrome diagnosis, get an abortion.
The couple found that the abortion rate is much lower overseas but the woman end up deserting the children after they give birth because children with DS or other special needs are deemed unloveable.
It was then that the Tillery's discovered Reece's Rainbow, an organization that helps children find forever families. The couple began their benefit dinner to help fund that organization.
The Somewhere Over the Rainbow Benefit Dinner will take place on February 20 from 5:30-9:30 p.m at the Brazos Cotton Exchange in Bryan.
