The Jewett Messenger Headlines for June 26th

The Brazos Valley spans across a handful of counties here in Texas.

To keep you up to date on the news happening where you live, we've joined forces with community newspapers.

Here are the headlines for June 26th in The Jewett Messenger.

The city is looking for a director of Public Works.

City council approved staff to post the job in the paper and online.

So far, no current city employee has passed the waste water treatment exam required for the job.

The council is also looking at ordinances related to mobile homes in the city.

In their last meeting, they laid the ground work to do away with current mobile home zoning restrictions.

They have also talked about disbanding zoning commission entirely.

Celebrate, remember and fight back this Friday evening at Leon Cougar Field.

The annual Leon County Relay for Life fundraiser will start at 7 Friday night and end at 7 am Saturday.

The theme this year is "Dream Big, Hope Big, Relay Big, because Everything is Bigger in Texas."
