COLLEGE STATION - Beginning Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 7am, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will close the SH 6 southbound exit ramp to Rock Prairie and the southbound frontage road approaching Rock Prairie Road will be reduced to one lane of traffic. These closures are necessary so our contractor can conduct concrete paving in the middle of the intersections.

Police officers will be in place to control traffic for the northbound frontage road intersection while construction operations are ongoing at both intersections. All closures will be re-opened in the evening when work operations have completed.

TxDOT urges motorists who travel this area to watch for workers and construction equipment in the area and to expect some delays.

This $4.2 million dollar construction project is contracted to Lone Star Road Construction, LTD and is scheduled to be completed by January of 2015. TxDOT and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during this construction.
