On Monday, May 14, 2012, beginning at 8:30am, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will permanently close Houston St. between University Drive and Hogg Street on the Texas A&M Campus. The left turn lane for westbound University Drive at the Houston St. /University Drive intersection will be closed permanently. This closure is necessary to complete roadway work of the new Houston Street connection between University Drive and Hogg St. Additionally, access to the post office parking lot will be prohibited while work operations are conducted.

On Friday, May 18, the new Houston Street (located 200’ west of the old Houston Street intersection) will be completed and opened to eastbound traffic on University Drive. Left turns onto the new Houston St. are permanently prohibited. Access to the post office parking lot will be reopened from the new Houston Street roadway.

This work is part of the $3.7 million dollar FM 60 Project contracted to Knife River.
