You know, between raising and donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to the community per year, putting school supplies into the hands of 10,000 needy children, helping to feed needy children, providing support to families of premature babies, and cheering on Special Olympians, plus putting on a wildly successful annual rummage sale, our members (80% of whom work full-time) don't have much time to watch soap operas or go shoe-shopping. How about you do that, and give us all a re-cap?

"...some of the women are blessed enough not to work for pay..." Translation: Some of the chicks have workaholic husbands that make way too money, so they stay home and watch soap opera's. They have nothing to do! Oh, I forgot about shoe shopping! My bad!

As a sustaining member of the Bryan-College Station Junior League, I know first hand how hard these women work. The first year (provisional year) weeds out pretty much anyone who doesn't have what it takes because they work you to death! And, to the best of my recollection, I would guess about 80-90% of these women have full time jobs and families to take care of and they do it all. True, some of the women are blessed enough not to work for pay, but believe me, they work for nothing to help the community - hence it being a "volunteer organization". Many women stay in for many years because they enjoy helping the less fortunate. Please do not comment on something that you have not experienced and only know through a "stereotype".

Actually the ones I know have jobs... I have seen some of the benefits of the donations of these women first hand. Before you judge a group maybe you should know a little bit about them. How exactly did contributing your negative comment help your family?

These are bored women trying to find something to do. Get a job and actually contribute to your family instead of just watching soap operas!
