There's more to corn than meets the eye this weekend at the Barrington Living History Farm in Washington.
At the "Aww Shucks" event, you can pick corn and learn various ways corn was prepared and cooked in 19th century Texas. Pick, shuck, shell, and grind corn. Make corn husk dolls and enjoy a variety of other corny activities.
The fun begins this Saturday, July 19 and continues on Sunday, July 20 at the Barrington Living History Farm, the home of the last president of the Republic of Texas, Anson Jones. Hours are 10:00am-4:30pm, with admission fees of $4 for adults and $2 for students. Children under six are admitted free. State Park pass holders are also admitted free. Discounted tour tickets for Independence Hall and the Star of the Republic Museum are available.
