Fast moving water is not something you should take lightly. It can cause damage to your home and sweep your car away in seconds.
It's running rapidly off bridges, making it's way across highways and streets. The recent rains have made for some dangerous and slick conditions in the Brazos Valley.
In Bryan, Burton Creek is filling fast with water carrying rocks, mud and other debris. City crews in College Station are keeping a close eye on Bee Creek, near Southwood, just in case it needs to be blockaded.
Jodi Stone is a local homeowner. She says the rain brings more trouble to her neck of the woods than others. "Our slope of our backyard is a greater slope than either of our neighbors," Stone said.
"The drains are clogged underneath, so they don't drain the way they're supposed to, so we kind of help brush the water along," Lena Stone said. She and her mom have been dealing with the rain since 9 a.m.
There is more severe weather on the way, so be smart and try to stay dry, if you can.
