Several local heritage, historical and patriotic organizations placed U.S. Flags at the College Station Cemetery to honor veterans for Memorial Day, Monday.
The flags were given by the Brazos Valley Chapter of National Sojourners. Officials of the group coordinated the flag memorial placements and maintain the list of veterans to honor.
The local heritage groups placed flags on Memorial Day and Veterans Day, to honor those who served in the military for our country to assure our safety and freedom. Community members were invited to participate in the placement of the flags.
Memorial Day is a United States federal holiday observed on the last Monday of May to commemorate U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service in all wars in service to our country.
