The Longoria Boxing Club presents the first edition of Fight Night At the Ice House On Main, a benefit amateur USA Boxing competition that will be held on December 2nd at the newly renovated Ice House on Main, Bryan TX. The event will feature twelve youth boxing matches as well as live music and local food. Doors open at 5pm. Show starts at 6pm.

Longoria Boxing Club is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “build champions inside and outside the ring”. It seeks to inspire young people to become valuable members of their community by providing a place for the underserved local youth to exercise and learn the value of sport, hard work, discipline and respect. Our program also encourages its young members to pursue an education so we host an Aggie Boxing Camp whose goal is to introduce middle and high-school students to the many opportunities that higher education, and Texas A&M University more specifically, has to offer.

The Longoria Boxing Club depends on the local community to function and relies on donors and supporters to help sustain its program. The profits of the event will help purchase boxing equipment, pay USA Boxing registration fees and offset competition trips expenses and general operating costs. Please consider making a donation if you are unable to attend the show.

Stark Galleries, Memorial Student Center, Texas A&M University
A full scale presentation of the Texas Aggies Go to War exhibit which debuted in Bastogne, Belgium in 2014 will be on display on the Texas A&M campus in the J Wayne Stark Galleries in the Memorial Student Center. The exhibit will tell the story of five former students of Texas A&M University who each had a role in the pivotal Battle of the Bulge which led to the Allied victory in Europe. These five—James Hollingsworth ‘40, Turney Leonard ‘42, Willie Peña ‘42, Joe Routt ’37 and Earl Rudder ’32 —are representative not only of all Aggies, but all Americans, who served in World War II. Through them a story is told of dedication, sacrifice, reconciliation, healing, and deep ties, both personal and economic, between people an ocean apart. The full exhibit will be part of the Military Heritage Center, which will be built in College Station's Veterans Park.
