Experience the genius of Leonardo Da Vinci through 36 machines based on his visionary designs. Each machine has been faithfully constructed from Leonardo's notebooks by a modern team of scientists and craftsman in the heart of the Renaissance, Florence, Italy.

Set the machines in motion. Explore the range of mechanical principles Leonardo employed. Set the mind of the ultimate Renaissance man artwork through his notes and drawings. Compare Leonardo's designs with today's innovations.

The machines are grouped into four sections, based upon applications linked to the elements, which held a strong fascination for Leonardo Da Vinci: Fire, Water, Earth and Air.

The Museum of the American G.I. is proud to present Over There: America in WWI, a centennial commemoration of America’s role in the Great War. Join us as we explore American life before the war, its build up as the US recruited and equipped its soldiers, the efforts to fund the war effort through bonds, frugality on the home front, and life for the men and women who served “over there.” The exhibit features over 40 original posters, uniforms, restored trucks, and the only operational FT-17 Renault tank in North America! Come on by Friday through Sunday to explore this part of American military history!

Girls World Expo

Event Dates and Times

3/3/2018
DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Midland Plaza 117 West Wall Street Midland, TX 79701
Saturday March 3, 2018
Noon - 4pm

Girls World Expo is a day-long event created by local teen girls for local teen girls – our local Girls Advisory Board is made up of teens from Midland-Odessa who have created a unique show just for you! We have also worked closely with our local media partner, West Texas Radio Group, to fill the day with seminars, performances, demonstrations and vendors that serve your needs in the Midland-Odessa area!

Girls World Expo can change your life – come together with your friends, or make new ones at the Expo, to enjoy a magical day where you will hear from and meet successful and powerful women right from your own community who can show you a path to success! You will attend workshops, listen to speakers, see demonstrations, science exhibits, and speak one-on-one with women who are leaders in business, government, industry, the arts, and many other realms of endeavor. It's a rare opportunity for you to see what your future could be, and learn what it will take to get there.

But it's not all work! Girls World Expo is also fun. There's fashion, an art show, music and dance performances by talented local artists, and the always-popular GWE Marketplace, where you can see and purchase everything from hair accessories to self-help materials, and clothing to jewelry.

It's not just another day. It's a very special day. It's an opportunity to spend a day in a safe, secure environment inspired by the company of other girls and not just seeing but creating the future. Your future.

Bowl for Kids' Sake

Event Dates and Times

3/3/2018
College Station
Saturday, March 3, 2018
10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Bowl for Kids’ Sake is an easy and fun way to positively impact a child’s life. Just follow these simple steps:

1. Start a team. Teams can have up to five members. Consider creating a team with co-workers, family, friends, fraternity brothers, or sorority sisters.

2. Start securing donations. Each bowler is asked to raise a minimum of $100 in donations for a total of $500 per team. What’s the best part? All of the event expenses are completely underwritten by corporate sponsors. That means 100% of the money raised by bowlers goes directly toward supporting children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters in the Brazos Valley.

3. Start bowling. After you’ve secured your donations, it’s time to have fun! You’ll receive three free games of bowling (shoes &
ball rental included), pizza, and a drink. There will also be chances to win great door prizes!

So what are you waiting for? By partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters through Bowl for Kids’ Sake, you can make a long-lasting, positive impact on children in our community. Our mentoring works--it broadens children’s perspectives and helps them learn how to make good choices. It starts children on the path to succeeding in school and life by helping them fulfill their potential.
