Money management will become very important as most of our spending habits will increase going into the summer months. But, there are some neat tools you can use to help you keep track of that all-important dollar.
Quicken, the long-time money-management giant for PCs, has stepped it up a notch, now providing an online version of its popular software. For $3 a month (or $36 a year) you can use Quicken online to consolidate financial info from all of your banking and credit card accounts. The online service can tap into over 5,000 databases from banks and other financial institutions to help you track your latest purchases and give you an accurate, up-to-the minute look at your latest financial situation down to the cent.
While playing around with Quicken online, I also found a similar service that you can use for free! Mint.com essentially allows you to do the same thing Quicken does, but at no cost!
There’s a plus and minus to both these services. They’re both web-based, which means you can access either site as long as you’re on a computer that can access the web. However, even though they’re both secure, you’ll have to submit financial info you may consider sensitive in order for the programs to do their stuff.
