Blakeley Galbraith joined the KBTX news family in August 2016 as a Multimedia Reporter.
Blakeley grew up in the San Diego, California suburb of Escondido. Although a California native, a few years of her youth in Texas and Texas Football, brought her to The University of Texas where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism with a focus on Broadcasting.
Prior to KBTX, she interned with KXAN Austin in news and production and was recognized for excellence in investigative reporting and breaking news of high profile stories in the Austin metropolitan area. She covered stories like the first homicide on the UT Austin campus since 1966 and helped uncover the decrease in numbers of firefighters in the Austin area. Blakeley also worked as a production assistant for the KXAN Studio 512, highlighting the hottest trends restaurants, events in Austin. In 2012 she held internships in Los Angeles, California marketing and production operations for Fox Sports and the start of up Fox Sports 1. She is very excited to get to know the community and experience the place where so many of her friends have called home.
Family roots and college football inspired Blakeley to come to Bryan/College Station, where she resides with her favorite sidekick, a golden retriever, Maisie.
