On Thursday, officials working to reconstruct a drunk driving related accident will have to shut down a portion of Highway 21.
Several westbound lanes of the highway near Gooseneck Dr. will be closed between 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Thursday. Officials do not anticipate a complete road closure but are asking drivers to avoid the area.
The accident they are reconstructing occurred back on April 21 and left three people injured. According to police, the victims were pushing their disabled truck when they were struck by another vehicle.
The driver that struck them, 26-year-old Lorenzo Arellano, was arrested and charged with two counts of intoxication assault.
