BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - The 48th annual AggieCon has kicked off at the Brazos County Expo.

The event is the largest student-run fan convention that includes gaming, cosplay, panels and more.

Some highlights of the weekend include an Iron Artist competition, a course on creating comics, and a chance to meet some big names in the industry.

"We've got voice actors. We've got artists. We really try to dip a little bit into every type of "nerdom" so that we can include everyone, really. That's kind of our main goal here to make sure we don't just pander to one group too much. We just try to get everyone in on this," said Andrew Hoertt, director.

AggieCon will continue all weekend. Saturday hours will be from 10 a.m. to midnight. Sunday will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
