Board could give Texas Mushroom Festival a second chance

MADISONVILLE, Tex. (KBTX)- KBTX has learned the board overseeing the annual Texas Mushroom Festival in Madisonville will meet next week to discuss bringing it back after receiving several offers of support and help.

The following statement was sent to KBTX on Thursday:

After the Texas Mushroom Festival’s facebook page exploded with offers from the community to volunteer, the Board of Directors is excited to announce they will have another meeting and have extended invitations to all prospective volunteers to attend.

The meeting will be Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 6:00PM at the Woodbine Hotel located at 209 N. Madison, Madisonville, Texas.

They will discuss the open positions that need filling and will visit about just what this entails, and they will have a sign in sheet where the volunteers will be able to leave their contact information.

If the turnout is successful, the Board of Directors will conduct a vote at the conclusion of the meeting to determine if they can commit to operating the 2018 festival.

Cross your fingers, keep a prayer in your heart, and please show up in numbers.

Thanks again for your offer of support!
Steve Carter, President
