UPDATE: Bridge rail replacement on Highway 21 pushed back a week

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - UPDATE: TxDOT is rescheduling their roadwork on Highway 21 to Monday March 13 and Tuesday March 14.

ORIGINAL STORY:The Texas Department of Transportation is about to begin replacing a bridge rail on the Highway 21 overpass over Highway 6 in Bryan.

Several lanes on both highways will begin to close Wednesday and Thursday.

The details are in a release sent by TXDOT listed below:

Beginning Wednesday and Thursday, March 8th and 9th, the Texas Department of Transportation’s (TxDOT) contractor will begin setting concrete barriers on the SH 21 overpass over SH 6 to close both the eastbound and westbound outside lanes. These lane closures and concrete barriers are being set up to protect workers replacing the bridge rail on SH 21.

This closure is expected to last approximately one month. There will also be daily lane closures below the SH 21 underpass on SH 6 during this construction.

This work is contracted to Knife River for $800,000.00 to upgrade bridge rails in the Bryan District. TxDOT and their contractor appreciate everyone’s patience during this construction.
