BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX) - A Bryan man is being indicted for allegedly stabbing a man with a beer bottle during a fight.

Johnnie Harris, Jr., is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say that Harris was fighting another man over drugs.

The attacked happened in August around 4:00 p.m. outside a home in the 700 block of Pepper Tree Drive. Police say the Harris and Rufus Dewayne Harris, III, were fighting before the stabbing over illegal narcotics. According to a police report, the two men were at a friend's house and Johnnie Harris allegedly took a K2 blunt from Rufus Harris without paying for it.

During the fight, Rufus Harris said he was going to retrieve a gun. Johnnie Harris told police he stabbed him with the bottle to prevent him from getting the gun.

Harris, Jr., made headlines back in 2011 when a Bryan police officer shot him. The officer said Harris reached for his gun -- but dashcam video was inconclusive.A grand jury failed to indict the officer in the shooting. The incident forced the officer to resign.
