Bryan police arrest man suspected of multiple vehicle burglaries

BRYAN, Tex. (KBTX)- The following post comes from the Bryan Police Department Facebook page:

Officers received a call of a burglary in progress Monday night around 11:00 p.m. in the 3600 block of Shirley Drive.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect. At about 3:00 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle in the 2700 block of Tabor, not too far from the original call, that resembled the suspect vehicle with one occupant. The officer turned around to make contact, but the occupant was gone.

After a brief search, Andre Reginald Densey was located hiding nearby. Some evidence was found on Densey connecting him to one of the burglaries and more was located in the vehicle including a handgun.

Densey was arrested on unlawful possession of a firearm and eight counts of burglary of motor vehicle.

Property was returned to these eight victims, but we still have some property that is unclaimed. If you had a vehicle broken into in this area please make a report, even if little was taken.

Thanks to the excellent description given by the first victim the burglar was ultimately located and arrested. It is our citizens of this community who help make it great.
