SAN MARCOS - A woman is charged with two counts of intoxication manslaughter after a crash in San Marcos left a Bryan man dead on Tuesday.
The victim's pregnant wife also lost her baby on Wednesday, according to police.
Fabian Guerrero-Moreno, 23, died after the vehicle he was riding in was hit by an alleged drunk driver around 6:05 p.m.
The accident also injured his pregnant wife, Kristian Nicole Guerrero, who was driving at the time.
Kristian Guerrero, 21, is recovering at St. David's South Austin Medical Center where we are told she is in serious condition as of Wednesday evening.
Kristian lost her unborn child, while under medical care.
KBTX spoke with Fabian’s former soccer coach, Tommie Allmon who coaches Bryan High School’s team, Wednesday afternoon.
Allmon told us Fabian was one of his most talented players, and that he will always remember him as the ultimate teammate with a selfless attitude.
"It was a privilege for me and our coaching staff to be a part of to be a part of his growing up… to know that I have outlived him, that is heart breaking - that's hard," said Allmon.
Hours before the crash, the couple checked into a Joe's Crab Shack in San Antonio on Facebook.
On August 1, the Guerreros posted a sonogram image on Facebook with a caption that says "Is this the face of a little prince or a little princess?! We can't wait to find out Sunday! Are you team boy or team girl?! Taking bets now!"
The accused drunk driver is Shana Lee Elliott, 21, of San Marcos.
Elliot is senior at Texas State University. According to reports out of Austin, Elliot had spent the day on the river, where witnesses say she had been drinking.
Investigators say Elliott crossed the road in the 1700 block of Highway 21 in San Marcos and hit the Guerreros' vehicle. Elliott was transported to Central Texas Medical Center.
She was later arrested for intoxication manslaughter and intoxication.
She is now facing two counts of intoxication manslaughter and intoxication assault.
