CALDWELL, Tex. (KBTX) - The Burleson County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help after multiple people broke into the Caldwell restaurant La Bamba Mexican Grill and Bar last week.

According to the Sheriff's Office, the Mexican grill and bar that has been in Burleson County for a decade was broken into at around 4:30 a.m., Tuesday, November 23. They believe multiple individuals were involved in the burglary.

"They broke into the building, the side window of the building, using a sledgehammer." says the restaurants owner and manager Luis Orostieta. "They took all the cash they were able to find."

Orostieta says several individuals used a crowbar to break into the register and stole more cash from a back room. In total, he says they stole $2,500.

It wasn't until 9 a.m. that a La Bamba employee first entered the building to find the destruction. The owner says damages to his restaurant will cost him close to one thousand dollars, and insurance will only cover some of that cost.

Security cameras at the grill were just recently installed back in July, and were to be used primarily for watching the employees and customers.

"I wanted to keep track of employees and make sure they weren't taking advantage of the cash register, or any accidents that may happen during business hours," says Orostieta.

As for those that broke into his restaurant, the La Bamba owner hopes that the burglars would choose a different career path and find jobs.

An investigation is still currently underway but if you have any information regarding these individuals please contact the Burleson County Sheriff's Office.
