Cargo truck carrying dry ice overturns on Highway 6

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - The northbound entrance ramp to Highway 6 at William D. Fitch Pkwy was closed for about an hour early Monday morning, as emergency crews worked to clear an overturned cargo truck in the roadway.

The crash happened just after 7:00 a.m. and traffic quickly began backing up on the Frontage Road right in front of Christ United Methodist Church. Officials say a pick-up truck was involved in the accident as well but the nature of the crash is under investigation.

The cargo truck was carrying 3,000 pound of dry ice.

College Station Police and College Station Fire crews responded to the crash. DPS troopers assisted in the investigation as well.

All lanes were back open by 8:15 a.m. Monday. The driver of the cargo truck was taken to Scott and White Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
