Chili cook-off raises money for high school scholarships

MADISONVILLE, Tex. (KBTX) - The Madison County Chamber of Commerce hosted its 3rd annual Chili Cook-off this week in downtown Madisonville.

Teams from across the county came together to see who is the ultimate chili cooking champion.

Cash prizes and a plaque were given to the top three teams at the event on Tuesday. First place went to Triple E BBQ, second place to McKenzies BBQ and third place to Henson Family Dealerships.

Other teams included MARI, D&S Cookers, Burro Blanco, Monterey Mushrooms, House of Hope, Ed Collins, Thomas Collard, Ricky Driskell, Cpt. Robert Jennings, American Legion, Danny Davis, Madisonville Police Dept., Dan Davis, Laura Lawrenz, Marcia McGinty, & Madisonville Care Center.

The money raised at the cook-off will go toward high school scholarships in Madison County.
