Corps of Cadets lay wreaths for Veterans Day

COLLEGE STATION, Tex. (KBTX) - Texas A&M's campus paused for a few minutes to remember veterans on Friday.

The Corps of Cadets presented three wreaths at the memorials in Cadet Plaza.

There was a 21-gun salute before Taps was played at 11:11 a.m.

For Squadron 5 Executive Officer Hope Carter, it means a lot to be able to help remember Aggie veterans and others from across the country.

"It's an absolute honor," said Carter. "Every day we train and instill in our cadets that there's so many people who've come before us and sacrificed so much for us to be able to be here at this great university--and hopefully be able to carry on their legacy."

This is an annual tradition for the Corps of Cadets every Veterans Day.
