FEBRUARY 12th, 2017 -- This week will be a bit more active to start out than this time last week where we were in the 80s. Rain and storms look likely as a storm system moves in from the west.
We start this week with rain and storm chances, especially on Valentine's Day when the rain could get rather heavy at times.
Rain will likely get started early in the day on Tuesday with heavier rainfall more likely between 9am-12pm. Rain gear is also something that will come in handy, so don't send those kiddos to school with out the boots and the coats.
A look at forecast radar from early Tuesday through late Tuesday.
With regard to rainfall totals: A widespread 1-2" event is likely, but some spots could pick up isolated totals in excess of 2 inches. The PinPoint forecast just brings a swath of 1-2" for the Brazos Valley by Wednesday morning, most of that falling on Tuesday.
Overall, here's what I'm thinking for the entire Brazos Valley:
A couple of things to remember for Valentine's Day: rain coat, rain boots if you got em, and the all important umbrella.
Be sure to keep following along for updates on this rain event for the Brazos Valley as the forecast is always evolving.
