SAN ANTONIO, Tex. (KBTX) - Our first stop in San Antonio was SeaWorld. They've been entertaining and educating folks for decades and we got a chance to check out some of the coolest animals in the park.
"They are all found either from the coastline of the Antarctic or off to some of the several islands off the continent," explained Lloyd Tyndall, a senior aviculturist at SeaWorld.
That means cruising into the cold!
Around 200 of the birds live at SeaWorld and you can suit up to see them for yourself.
"We have very curious penguins they want to know who you are. They know exactly that you are not one of the keepers so they are going to come over and look at you and see what's going on and be able to interact with you," said Tyndall.
When you're ready to make friends with a different species, you can head on over to the brand new dolphin rescue tour. You'll have the chance to pet and feed the 16 dolphins that live behind the scenes at SeaWorld.
"What we love as the rescue team here at SeaWorld is the stories behind each one," said Todd Throckmorton, a trainer with SeaWorld's dolphin rescue program.
You wouldn't be wrong to spend all day with the penguins and dolphins, but a taste of Italy is not far away.
"If you are eating one meal here, you've got to go truffle buratta. It uses truffles, marscapone, and house made mozzarella. All of our cheese is made in house and then of course we are known for the pizzas," explained Andrew Bryson, the general manager at Dough Pizzeria Napoletana.
The pizzas are wood-fired and made fresh.
"90 seconds in the oven. Volcanic stone. 800 degrees on the stone, 1,000 in the oven," explained Bryson.
The goal at Dough Pizzeria Napoletana is to take your taste buds on a trip.
"The cheese has to be fresh. The tomatoes have to be a certain style, everything like that. Everything that you would eat in Italy as far as a pizzeria goes, the idea is to do it here," said Bryson.
