BRYAN - A few months ago local kids were given a chance to design their dream playground. Saturday, their dreams were brought to life.
After the designs were submitted by the kids at the Bridge Ministries in Bryan, plans were drawn up to create a fun place for them to play.
This is the 27th playground to be built with the help from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas and the non-profit Kaboom.
The playground was built in just six hours with the help of about three hundred volunteers.
Some volunteers helped paint games like hopscotch and four-square around the yard. The playground was not the only thing built on Saturday. Large benches, an outdoor classroom setting, and recycling bins were also built.
Builders say kids will be able to get out and use the new playground when the cement is set in just a few days.
