Discussing pet snakes on Pet Talk - September 11, 2017

This week on Pet Talk Valarie Reiss with the Texas A&M Veterinary School discussed what types of snakes you might want to consider as a pet and what to expect from the reptile.

Reiss says the western hog nose snake is a good starter snake. She recommends getting a two year old because the type of snake can be finicky, but they have a little more personality than other types.

The hog nose also doesn't bite which makes it a great beginner pet for families interested in getting a reptile.
